Chet Beiler is a native of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania where he grew up on a 100-acre farm in Gap, Pennsylvania, learning the value of hard work and the laws of the land. He and his seven siblings valued teamwork and careful planning. They helped their neighbors and enjoyed the richness of strong relationships in the community.
In the early 80’s Chet was awarded a scholarship to attend Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA. This became his window to the world as he befriended individuals from all walks of life and from many countries. He studied in Heidelberg, Germany and traveled to the former Soviet Union with Pepperdine. Upon graduating in 1987 he immediately began his entrepreneurial journey.
Sam Schmidt and Chet met at Pepperdine in the mid-80’s, became good friends, and their families have stayed in touch since. Chet has always cared deeply about Sam’s amazing journey and is honored to serve on the Board of Conquer Paralysis Now because of Sam’s inspirational story.
In 1989, Chet launched a small gazebo business in Southern California and built it into one of the nation’s leading providers of outdoor structure. With the American spirit of optimism coupled with an ability to build effective teams, Chet has been a partner in a wide range of enterprises over the past 40 years. He is gifted at bringing good people together to do great things.
Chet believes strong and generous communities are the backbone of our society. That is why he has been an active Rotarian for nearly 20 years while also volunteering for and supporting The Salvation Army, rescue missions, and World Vision. Chet and his wife Sharon support worthy efforts, including their local church, to improve the lives of those facing a rough patch.
Chet and Sharon have been married for 30 years and are blessed with two daughters, Heather, and Brianna. They live in Manheim, PA.
