In 2022, Conquer Paralysis Now was approached with an exciting research opportunity: Combine resources with other independent charities who focus on Spinal cord injuries to support a new study designed by Unite2Fight Paralysis.
The study is a unique multidisciplinary research study combining a nerve growth drug and epidural stimulation in a large animal model targeting chronic spinal cord injury. This study will apply a combination of interventions already being tested in humans and be carried out by the same people testing the therapies in humans.
CPN and the 4 other non-profits, were excited to provide community-based funding of about $400,000. This funding will allow researchers to gather preliminary stim/peptide data that could perhaps lead to more substantial federal money later.
